NoteBuilder is a very easy-to-use, powerful database manager with special built-in features that support research and bibliographic applications. It can import and export text in a variety of formats and is compatible with leading word processors and bibliographic styles. Although not designed for free-form text management, it supports field lengths up to several pages long. A unique Analyze feature supports thematic analysis in which one wants to retrieve as-yet-unknown words or terms that appear in conjunction with known ones. If one does not need content-analytic or statistical features, NoteBuilder's low cost, easy learning curve, and instantaneous searching could place it high on one's software shopping list.
