Burt Kosko is a bright, impetuous, and intense scientist who displays all of these traits in his newest book: Fuzzy Thinking: The New Science of Fuzzy Logic. Relying on his diverse background in math, engineering, music, and philosophy Kosko sets out to create a popular (i.e., nontechnical) book revealing the nature and workings of a reasoning system with the improbable name of fuzzy logic. It is an accessible introduction to an important topic for nonmathemati cians.
