Hardware and Software for Telephoning Voters En MasseNorth Carolina State University
North Carolina State University The authors describe the hardware and software used to telephone voters en masse prior to an election in support of a candidate. They use Dialogic 41 DSP-based voice boards on an Intel 80286 platform. Software was written in U.S. Telecom's VAL (voice application language). Dialogic's VFEdit was used as a phrase editor, allowing messages to be recorded and played over the telephone. The results of this electioneering endeavor are discussed in the second half of the article.
